As an artist, I hope to evoke a sense of joy in my audience, offering warmth and comfort. I work with mixed media, and my practice is rooted in exploring feeling, reflection, and the quiet ways we connect with ourselves and others.
Alongside my personal work, I am drawn to community-based projects and shared creative spaces. Through these experiences, I hope to inspire others while continuing to grow, learn, and deepen my own understanding of the creative process.
I remain interested in collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches, including stage production and curatorial practices, as ways of bringing people, ideas, and experiences together.
Born in Thimphu, Bhutan in 1997, Pema Yangdon is a visual artist working primarily with mixed media, based in Thimphu.
Her practice explores themes of introspection, emotion, and reflection through both personal and community-based work, often using found materials, painting, and process-based approaches.
Alongside her artistic work, she engages in spatial design, bringing together traditional Bhutanese elements and contemporary approaches in a quiet and intuitive way.
She has been part of VAST Bhutan since 2015 and continues to develop her practice through exhibitions, collaborative projects, and ongoing exploration.
